I picked up a used Boss ME-80 a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday I tried to download the Boss Tone Studio software to my Windows 10 laptop, and the button for Windows 10 is dead. I went to their News page, and on the April 27th they posted this: 'New install of BOSS TONE STUDIO for Windows is temporarily unavailable. Win 10 - installing hw drivers Boss GT-10 Oh who decided Windows 7 driver for Boss GT-10 should not work in Windows 10? This is a high end guitar processor and is too expensive to just not use because of this incompatible driver issue. I posted this on another forum, so apologies for the repeat. I picked up a used Boss ME-80 a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday I tried to download the Boss Tone Studio software to my Windows 10 laptop, and the button for Windows 10 is dead.

I would try uninstalling BOSS Tone Studio, reboot and then re-installing BOSS Tone Studio. That software more than likely installed a specific driver when it was originally installed and the Windows Update may have overwritten the driver.

Did you download the Windows 10 Driver from HERE.

There is also a system update available on that page as well!

When the specific configuration leads to problems, or maybe keeps one or two drivers from correctly working with other drivers, try and duplicate all procedures logged in as administrator. Driver windows 7 ultimate. When all else falls flat try the driver installation application.

No good. It only wanted to 'fix' my hard drive by 'ejecting' it. Nothing about fixing any USB ports.

OK, found a really obscure thread on your exact problem - Click HERE for the thread

The fix that worked on that thread is as follows:

Do a search on your PC and find the file RDIF1148.INF

Back it up sonewhere safe . . .

Open RDIF1148.INF in a text editor
Change the following lines from (You can copy and replace from here):
[Roland.NTx86.6.2]
;; Windows8
%RDID0148DeviceDesc%=RDID0148Install, USBVID_0582&PID_0187 ; GT-001
[Roland.NTx86.7]
;; not supported
To
[Roland.NTx86.6.2]
;; Windows8

Boss Me 80 Download Windows 10

Phil, after some more reading on some versions of that software the driver files is named RDIF1149.INF, so if you have no luck with the other file look for this one.

No idea where the file is located, possibly the installation folder for the software or in Windows Folder
